Welcome
Welcome to the web page of the Sydney Model Aero Club
Incorporated.
Miniature aircraft have been flown at the ANZAC Range at Malabar
Headland in Sydney, Australia, since the 1920's. Sydney Model Aero
Club has operated from the ANZAC Rifle Range since 1982. The primary
focus of the club is the flying of radio controlled miniature aircraft
with the objective of promoting the safe operation of radio controlled
miniature aircraft in both recreational and competitive flying. The
club's objective is to keep the emphasis of our activity on r/c flying
in as many forms as possible. This covers the flying of internal
combustion as well as electric powered propeller and ducted fan
aircraft in any form including sport, scale, fixed wing or helicopters
and gliders.
All flying operations at Malabar Ranges are
temporarily suspended until further notice as the licence to operate
at the site has been suspended by the Commonwealth Government. It is
hoped that the licence will be reissued in the near future. SMAC inc
will continue to operate as a Club during this time and will conduct
indoor flying once a month at Borgia Community Recreation Centre, 531
Illawarra Road, Marrickville. Further details on this can be provided
by the Clubs secretary.
